The Forests

Audric moved silently in the forest, only here was his large size really hidden, the foliage beneath him let the slightly larger wolf walk between the great trees on silent and graceful paws. He was at home here. Here is where he thrived where no one could challenge him. It was home.

A small patch of rare sun seeped it's way through the thick canopy of trees to briefly touch the quick moving male. It bounced of just as quickly and soon the wolf was once more camouflaged in the green his pelt transparent here. His sensitive feet making far more sense of the small vibrations here then they ever would outside of the forest, and his home.

it was not long before he came up on the den site of his clan, and as per usual, the site was quiet and empty, but with no other Terra clan to fill the space, why would it be full? Small critters were the only company for the male, and even they were boring at times. Like Blaze, Audric only wanted company that cared about what he cared about, but wolves that loved the Earth as he did were few and far between, most tended to stray towards Aure and Fluidus. shaking his head the male settled into his nest between to large trees and let his eyes roam the forest.

The golden female glittered in the sunlight as she soared over the canopy, her paws caressing the tips of the leaves as she pretended to walk across the trees. Despite her excitement to go and greet the pups, she suddenly realised that she had never tried flying in the forest itself, only having ever visited when necessity called. After coming to the Order, she decided to take every chance she could to try something new, and so without hesitation she folded her wings in and let herself fall through the branches.

She gave a small gasp at how the trees closed in around her and she only barely found enough room to spread her wings once she had almost hit the ground, beating them furiously to keep her in the air. Regardless, she began to fly through the forest, using her paws to guide her between the tight spaces of the branches and vines as she struggled to keep herself from falling. Misae began to get the hang of it though, spinning and gliding as small giggles escaped her maw, blue eyes wide with the excitement of it all.

It only lasted a few minutes though until she tried to fit through a gap too small for ever her slender frame, her wings hitting either side of the trees to send her sprawling forwards with a yelp. She flew in a flash of gold through the green only to run into something solid but soft, a small 'oof' whooshing from her lungs. Getting to her paws she tried to clear her dizzy head, shaking her wings as she looked up to see Terran Whitelighter standing before her.

'Oh, Audric, I'm terribly sorry for running in to you," she apologised quickly, an ear falling back in embarrassment as without knowing an air of happy friendliness eminated around her like heat from a flame. Looking around a small smile crossed her face, a glow off her pelt patrially lighting up the earth around her as she inspected the beautiful shades of green, and though she personally preferred more sunlight she found herself murmering. "This certainly is a lovely forest."

Audric lifted his head quickly and stood around looking self-consciously. Not many came within his forest, many thought it too confining, at least the air wolves did. They hated the tight constrains of the trees, yet here was a wolf that could fly, and she was...complementing how beautiful it was.

It was uncommon, but not unheard of. "Thank you, the forest indeed has many splendors that only those that know where they are have seen. Wo-Would you like to see them?" He was unsure of what to do around the charmed ones. Aquillo was easy, Audric just gave small amounts of respect. But Audric felt like the females deserved more.

Misae's gold ears perked at the offer, blue eyes lighting up with interest as she found herself nodding - she could always greet the pups later, afterall, it was not everyday that she entered the forest. "Oh, I'd be honored," she accepted with a graciousness one expected from royal blood. The glow around her increased a little to let her see further as she peered into the shadows, wondering how far away these 'spendors' were.

"Lead the way," she smiled, tail swaying behind her.

Audric dipped his head, always happy to show the treasures of the forest, and he knew just what this charmed one would like. "Of course right this way" He swished his tail and beckoned her to follow him the opposite way they had entered and deeper into the forest.

Here the forest turned nearly black as the trees were so close that little to no light sank in. It took a while but he managed to find it. The first tree he had seen when he came to this land. The tree itself was hundreds of years old and spoke in roars to the sensitive forest male. It talked of years that had passed and seasons it had survived, fires that had crossed it's path and wolves that had lived before. He knew from experience that this was a tree of power, not that it gave any away, but that it had stood when others had fallen. It spoke to all, if they were willing to listen, now it was speaking of past years when rain was plentiful. The land around it was plush and green, even with the darkness around the two wolves the woods were silent here, almost as if in respect, and lighting bugs were aplenty giving the trees around it a dreamlike quality."What do you think?" Audric didn't know what she would think but he would always love this place.

Misae smiled as he motioned for her to follow, her ears pressing forward as she happily trod after him. Her sapphire gaze wandered across the various vegetation with a burning curiousity, her golden glow increasing as they entered further into the darkness, her eyes not adjusting as easily as his were. It took her a little longer to traverse the rugged terrain, but as soon as she caught up with him her jaw dropped a little in awe.

Out of respect, she extinguished her light, allowing the natural glow of the lighting bugs to do their work. She had never seen such a beautiful tree, stretching far beyond the reach of others and emitting such a power that her emotion-sensors were overwhelmed, causing her breath to catch in her throat. "It's beautiful," she managed to choke out. Being so sensitive to the feelings projected by other creatures, she could not help but gently step forward to soak up it's grandeur, never having before encountered a plant with such power.

Sitting back she looked at him with a lop-sided smile. "Why don't more wolves visit the forest?" Her tail gave a small wag before something suppressed it, her ears pressing forward as she tensed, looking around in confusion. She had a tight bond with the other Charmed Ones and she got the sensation that something was wrong, though without Kamea's telepathy powers she could figure out nothing beyond that. Trying to remove the small frownthat had settled on her brow, she said as brightly as possible. "You'll need to show me more another time, but I think we should head to the Recruits Run, apparantly a few puppies have shown up."

Turning herself in the direction she thought the border to be, she waited for him to lead the way, knowing it would probably take her about four times as long to navigate the forests without him.

Audric was thrilled at the charmed ones reception to his bit of show and tell, he would have enjoyed sitting and talking more about it but more pressing matters seemed to present themselves. He inwardly sighed, more puppies, he would not mind if they were bound for his clan, but so few held the Earth in their lives that many did not live with him. And he had long given up hope of one coming along, he was positive this new batch would be just as fruitless.

He knew that Misae would need directions if not guidance out of the forest, with how deep they were, so he once more respectfully beckoned and turned in the same direction that she had, and began to lead her from the forest.

Misae could easily sense the male's disappointment, promising herself that she would return to the forest before long. Without thinking, she began to project a cheerier atmosphere as she stepped lightly after the much larger male, trusting his knowledge of the woods without question. She wondered what Clans the pups would belong to when they arrived, thinking back to her first day in the Order less than a year ago, surprised that she had only been here for such a short period of time.

With that in mind, she followed Audric on foot to Recruits Run-Through.
